Creative Ad Campaign Designs by Kelvin James Landon

I have assigned myself a couple of ad campaigns that were inspired by my recent vacation to the beautiful island state of Hawaii. I decided to do remake a Delta Airlines one and another one for Hawaii itself.

Delta Airline Ad Campaign (Original)

Contrast

The contrast works here because the dark shades of the engines differ from the bright background.

Repetition

The repetition works here because of the engines appear one after the other.

Alignment

The alignment works here in the text as it’s lined up on the left side of the ad.

Proximity

The proximity works in this ad because the engines are huge compared to the man on the ground, and how it’s at a relative distance from the text and the logo.

Color

The only colors in the ad are coming from the text and the logos. That’s to draw the attention to them.

Typography

The text is plain simple and easy to read.

Delta Airline Ad Campaign (Remake)

I took the picture of the airplane’s wing on the flight to Hawaii.

Contrast

The contrast is apparent when the box for the text is brighter than the dark background behind it.

Repetition

The repetition is apparent on the wing tip as the little rods are sticking out in the places that they need to be.

Alignment

The alignment is apparent here because the text in the box all line up on the left side of the picture.

Proximity

The proximity is apparent in the picture as the wing tip is at a reasonable space from the text box.

Color

The only color I use is in the logos and the text. That’s so the audience could see them better.

Typography

The font I used was a Sans-Serif font, almost the same as the original.

Contrast

The contrast is used in this by capturing the reflection on the water by a darker mountain ridge.

Repetition

The repetition is used by the mountain ridges.

Alignment

The alignment is used in the text as it’s centered in the ad.

Proximity

The proximity is used as you can see the hikers a safe distance from the ridges.

Color

The coloring they used are mostly blues and greens.

Typography

The typography they used is a sans-serif type font.

Instagram Hawaii Ad Campaign (Remake)

I took the picture while I was cruising along the shores of Oahu.

Contrast

I used the contrast in this ad by making sure the shore was seen with the mountain.

Repetition

I used repetition in this ad by using the mountain ridges.

Alignment

The alignment is used in the text as it’s centered in the ad.

Proximity

I used proximity for the trees ant the couple in front of the bushes as they are in a good distance from each other.

Color

I used the colors that they used in the original by using mostly blue and green colors.

Typography

I used a serif font type similar to the original, but I chose do do it a little different to make it more my own.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I found that redesigning ads like these are kinda fun. But it’s important to remember all the design principles and design elements.
